I love playing tic-tac-toe and my kids are finally at the age where they are starting to learn there's a bit of strategy to the game which makes it even more fun! To make this DIY tic-tac-toe game, all you need are a few items from the dollar store and a few items you probably have at home. It's that easy! What you will need: 8 foam dice wood sign with wide sides stencil (optional) acrylic paint ![]() If you turn over your little wood sign yours should like like mine, with this little picture hanger thingy on it. Carefully use a flat head screw driver to remove it. It should come off relatively easy, it is just glued in place. Then, if you would like, paint the inside of your picture. I bought a black picture so that I could paint the inside black to make it match pretty easily. ![]() ![]() Next you will need to paint your foam dice. This is a bit time consuming painting all of the sides and giving each side multiple coats. I did about 4 coats on each side of my dice. ![]() Once your last coat of paint has dried on your dice you need to add your X's and O's. I do not like my freehand writing and didn't trust myself, so I got this stencil at the dollar store as well and used it to add an X to one side of every dice and then an O so the opposite side of each dice. This way there is always enough X's and O's for the game! ![]() Once it's all dry you're ready to play! Divide up your dice into 4 dice each and decide who is X and who is O. Then start placing your dice using the imaginary lines in your picture. If you don't like the imaginary lines, you could use a marker to draw on lines if you are playing with smaller children. Good luck! ![]() |
