This post may contain affiliate links. I have this porch post by my front door that I like to constantly change up with new decor. Sometimes I keep a wreath on the door and sometimes on the post, but for spring I wanted an Easter wreath on the door and something new for the porch post and this was perfect! Plus I found everything I needed at the dollar store! What you will need: some artificial flowers floral foam tin bucket metal fence piece drill bit and drill or hammer and nail for making hole in tin floral wire wire cutter If you'd like to change the color of your tin, do that first. I sprayed mine with a white spray paint and once it had dried I used some fine sand paper to give it a more roughed up look by rubbing it over the letters and the edges of the tin. Then using a hammer and a nail or a drill and drill bit, make 2 holes into the back of your tine where you will attach it to your fence piece. Next, cut apart your artificial flowers into individual stems with a wire cutter and sticking them one by one into the styrofoam. You can cut the stems down farther on some of the flowers to give more of a dimension in your arrangement. Once you have your arrangement done you can attach it to your fence piece. I used some floral wire and wrapped it through the holes and around some of the metal fence, twisting the wire nice and tight to keep it secure. Then it's ready to be displayed! You can stick the fence post right into a pot and make it as a nice flower arrangement. I cut off some of the longer pieces on the bottom and turned mine into a wreath. You could hang it on your fence or stick it anywhere in your garden. Use your imagination for where it would look best! do it yourself |
