I love having photos around the house, but don't care for setting up picture frames everywhere and these little photo holders are perfect.  They can stand anywhere, don't have big frames and are cute as can be.  Plus you can paint them any color you want!

What you will need:

quikrete  (and water, bucket and shovel for mixing)
wire
popsicle mold
cooking spray

Start by spraying or rubbing some oil onto the insides of your popsicle mold to keep your concrete from sticking.

Then take out your wire and make the holder part.  I just wrapped wire giving it a "stem" and then made a few loops in the shape of a circle that will hold my photo.  You could make the top part in any shape too, like a heart or a square, or even an initial.

Next, mix up your quikrete according to the directions on the package.  Pour your concrete mixture into each popsicle molds and give it a good tape to remove all the air pockets.  Once you have the concrete set, add in your wire holders.  If you need to, use tape to suspend your wire in the middle of your concrete while it dries.  My circles were just a tad bigger than the popsicle top, so they rested nicely in place.

Let them dry according to the manufacturers directions.  Mine took a good 24 hours to dry completely.

If you have some with rough edges, rub a piece of sandpaper on them to make them smooth.  If your bottoms did not come out smooth you could also add a piece of felt to the bottom to help protect the shelf that they sit on.  Mine came out very smooth, so I didn't need to do either step.  Then paint them however you would like.  We used nail polish to paint ours.  We dropped nail polish into an old container full of water and then used a toothpick to give it a bit of a swirl.  Then we lowered the photo holder into the nail polish, gave it a slight twist and pulled it back out.  The nail polish will grab right onto whatever it touches and lift right out of the water.

We made quite a few of them and gave out some of them as gifts.  I absolutely love how they turned out!
