How to make a hanging parrot bird perch This post may contain affiliate links. This was such a fun and easy DIY and my parrot Sydney loves it! With just a few pieces you can easily make this yourself in under an hour. What you'll need: 1/2" electrical conduit tubing (need at least 12') (6) 1/2" PVC cross fittings PVC pipe cutter tape measure eye hook(s) and chain for hanging This is what your plastic tubing will look like. It comes in many different sizes and lengths. If you're only able to find a specific width, make sure you get the matching PVC pipe fittings. For example, if you can only find 3/4" wide pipe, make sure to get the 3/4" PVC cross fittings. Using your tape measure, cut 12 pieces of your pipe, each being 12" long. Once you have all of your pieces cut, then all you need to do is start to push each of the pieces into the ends of the tee's and create your circle. You can use a PVC glue to glue them into place, but I've found that as long as I push them in far enough I don't have any problems with them coming falling out. When you have it all finished, use your drill and drill bit to create a hole into the top of one of the crosses so that you can twist in an eye hook for hanging. I also drilled 2 more holes on the bottom/inside of the top cross fitting so that I could hang some toys or treats as well. Then attach your chain to the top eye hook (and your toys if you wanted to add them) and hang it up for your feathered baby! diy projectsWant more DIY's?
