This post may contain affiliate links. My boys have really gotten into their video games and they love being able to play games with headsets so they can talk to their friends who are playing along. This means though, that there are always headphones laying around. I can't tell you how many have been broken because they get set on a table, get pumped off and someone (usually me) doesn't see them and steps on them. So my son asked if I could build him a headphone stand for his headphones so that they wouldn't break since he saved his own money to buy a nicer pair. I sure can! What you'll need: 1/2" pvc pipe (2) 1/2" pvc tee fittings (4) 1/2" pvc pipe 90* elbows (2) 1/2" pvc pipe end caps PVC pipe cutter or a hack saw spray paint (optional) First you will need to cut all your pvc pipe pieces to size. In the picture below, I've added the dimensions of each piece of pipe that I cut. Here you will also see the layout of the pvc pipe fittings. I used enough pressure and pushed each piece of pipe into each fitting and it fit nice and tight. Alternatively, you could use a pvc pipe glue to secure it nice and tight. Once your headphone stand is all put together you can then give it a nice coat of spray paint if you would like it to be a specific color. Then hang up your headphones on the longer end and wrap your cord and hang it around the smaller end! do it yourselfWant more DIY's? |
