But what if you want to play a game but don't have a big enough yard or the weather isn't cooperating or you don't have a corn hole game? No problem! You can make the mini version of corn hole and use quarters instead. This game reminds me of my younger years except we used quarters with some cups of beer. But this one is appropriate for everyone. ;) Plus it's very easy to DIY. You will need: 1" X 4" pine board Chop saw or cut off saw 1 1/4" hole saw (I have this assortment) a drill wood glue sandpaper Optional: paints, stains or paper and mod podge to decorate your board Start by cutting by taking your 1X4 and cutting it down to size with your chop saw or cut off saw. You will need 2 pieces that are cut to 5" long to make the actual board itself and you will need 2 pieces cut to about 1/2" to make the support base for the back of the board. Next you will need to use your drill and hole saw bit to cut out the circle for the inside of your board. Measure 1 1/2" down from the top and middle of your board and mark that spot. This is where the middle of your hole saw bit will sit to cut out the opening and also allow enough room for your 1/2" piece to be attached. When your hole has been cut out, give every edge of your wood a good sanding to remove all the rough spots including the inside of your circle. When it is nice and smooth, use your wood glue to attach the back edge to the back of your board. Allow it to glue in place according to the manufacturers directions. Once it has dried you can stain it, paint it or mod podge on some fun scrap book paper. After that is dry you're ready to grab some quarters and play! do it yourselfWant more DIY's? |
