At our home in Arizona we had a large piece of wood painted with chalkboard paint and we hung it on our wall so that the kids always had a huge chalkboard to draw on and we really missed playing with chalk. It's something you never grow out of. Or maybe that's just me ;) What you need: A table of any kind Rust-Oleum chalkboard paint I started by lightly sanding the top of my table just to make sure that my chalkboard paint would adhere nicely to my table since it was a resin/plastic type table. Then apply your paint according to your manufacturers directions and wait *patiently* for it to dry. I used my rustoleum chalk board paint and was very happy with how it went on and dried. I used 3 coats to cover the top of my table nicely and to make sure I had a good even coat over top of the plastic tabletop. I absolutely love how it turned out and it was such a fun way to "upgrade" the backyard fun. The kids use it to play tic-tac-toe or to write funny messages to each other. And I love to relax out back with a drink and do a little doodling with chalk. do it yourselfWant more DIY's? |
