In the last few years, my children have started to become very interested in music.  We got the kids a keyboard, then came time for middle school band which meant trumpets and a saxophone and now we have added an acoustic and electric guitars!  My oldest son has gone from knowing nothing about a guitar to being a darn good guitar player in under a year.  It's amazing!

My daughter, likes to putz around on the acoustic guitar, but it was never something she was very interested in.  That was until she spotted a new ukulele at our local thrift store.  Since then, she plays that little thing every day!

So since the ukulele was always laying around we decided that we needed to have a safe space to store it and since I love working with PVC we knew exactly what type of stand we wanted to make.

What you will need:

1/2" pvc pipe
8 - 1/2" pvc elbows
2 - 1/2" tee fittings
2 - 1/2" caps
PVC pipe cutter
1-2 rolls of vet wrap

Start by cutting all of your pvc pipes.  I've created a diagram of where each piece goes and how long each piece needs to be cut to:

Once you have your pieces cut, you will need to assemble your ukulele stand.  You can use a pvc pipe glue to hold it securely in place, but we just pushed our pieces in really tight and they stay together great.

When you have your ukulele stand all put together, take out your vet wrap and wrap up the entire stand.  This helps to give it a more non-slip grip so that your ukulele stays in place good.

Then set your ukulele on the stand to safely display it!
