These came out of a need for a convenient and effective cleanser for my teenager.  He started middle school and the acne started soon after.  He is a "gotta have product in my hair" kind of guy which is a main cause of his forehead acne and he's not the "wash my face every night" kind of guy - making it harder to tackle the acne.

So I needed something easy for him to use and something that actually worked against his acne.  He was using an acne medication that sort of helped, but that stuff left his skin terribly dried out which just gave him a new problem.

All I can say is "WOW"!  I can't believe the difference in his face.  After 2 weeks there was a significantly noticeable difference.

*I am not a doctor.  I am not saying this will help with yours or your childs acne.  I am just sharing what worked for us.  Please consult a physician before trying anything new.

What you'll need:

2 T witch hazel
1/2 T coconut oil
1/2 T Cetaphil skin cleanser
1/4 T vitamin E oil
3 drops tea tree essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
3 T distilled water
a glass jar
cotton cleansing round pads

Start by preparing your coconut oil.  If you live in a cold climate like I do, your coconut oil is always solid and it needs to become be in a more liquid state.  I put mine in a small pan and turn the stove on as low as it goes and within a minute or 2 the coconut oil will be in a liquid state.

After that, combine all of the ingredients into a small bowl and mix to blend.

Pour the entire liquid into your glass jar.  I only had a shallow jar at home, so that's what I used.  Just make sure it is in a jar that seals tight.

Take out about 15 of the cotton pads and put them into the jar, pushing down into the liquid to get them to absorb the liquid.  Then seal the jar and flip it over to get the of the liquid to run down to those top pads.

Then, depending on your jar, add in about another 10-15 pads and do the same thing, pushing down on the pads into the liquid and again, flipping the jar over to make sure it all gets absorbed.  As your pads sit in the jar, the liquid will eventually soak into all of the pads.

After the pads have absorbed all of the liquid, they are ready to be used.  Open the jar and pull out one of the cleansing and wipe your face with it.  There's no need to even rinse it off and your face will feel so soft when you are done.  I did even make myself a similar batch, just using different essential oils as a cleanser / makeup remover.  I love it!
