I found this adorable little coffee pot at our local thrift store for 75% off.  It cost me 39 cents so I had to bring it home and find a way to repurpose it.

I was going to make a little terrarium out of it, but I seem to have a bad track record when it comes to keeping plants alive.  I thought about filling it with all of our shells from our beach vacation and then decided to combine the two - I made a beach terrarium!

What I used for this:

sand
misc shells, sea glass, driftwood
a little beach chair from a fairy garden set

Start by filling your pot with some sand.  If you don't have access to sand you can usually find some at your local dollar store or even at any craft store.

Then all I did was arrange all my pieces.  I ended up switching out a few shells for the coral and the little sea biscuit just to give it more heigh and some more color.  I think it also needs a pair of mini flip flops, but I haven't been able to successfully snatch them from my daughters barbie collection yet  ;)

The only thing it is waiting for is my air plant!   My mom is bringing one home from Florida for me so it didn't make it in the picture yet.  Hopefully I will have better success with that one.
